I'm not feeling very original today, but I do feel like posting, so here's a little something I wrote for creative writing last year. The prompt was to use the word "goodbye", but I didn't care about school at that point so I just wrote this. 'tis a silly thing.
Ode to East Farthing
A very wise hobbit once said,
(one who many roads had tread);
“The Road Goes Ever On”,
and put it in a little song,
so when we turn to say goodbye,
no tear should glisten in our eye,
for every door that cruel fate closes
a secret gate we find by bed of roses,
and we joyfully take the hidden paths
that no one (we know) ever has,
you know, the ones that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.
A dollar to anyone who can name the reference.

Nice...It's weird, I too have nothing to post about but wanted to post anyway, and was considering Poetic Outlet III, but vetoed it.
So instead I'm going to try to read a whole play in the next two hours.
You know, the first time you read that in CW I couldn't decide whether I wanted to puke or hit you...

actually, according to my research, that should read "tolo da ngalad"
if you're going to try and make me look dumb by using elvish at least spell it properly, even if the roman alphabet version is based on phonetics....

I belive my source was quite accurate, however I will now set aside homework time (right, like I'd actually do that) to research further (by which I mean hours). Look for a response on the morrow.

Ok juicy, so you're saying that "tolo dan nan galad" should be "tolo dan na ngalad"
"galad" is a form of "calad," which is the literal word for light.
"nan" is "na," meaning "to" or "towards", and "i(n)," meaning "the"
But anyway, j_verts kinda right there, it is pretty pathetic that we don't know this off the tops of our heads. I swear, one of these days I need to find a class in Sindarin...

If i am correct though, what you told me was a quote from the film, and according to the official transcript (which i'm sure is a very reliable source) it's the version i presented.
While David Salo (who did all the movie Elvish), I still think that Renk and Faulksinger are equally as valid. So, again, no real winner, but Koops followed up with very legit stuff.
