Temple Of Doom Much?

My yearning for Civiliztion IV continues. Remember the other night? Well, that monster download that was supposed to give me a demo to tide me over until the real thing arrived got cut off. Horror. I, dismayed, started it again, only to see that, inexplicably, it was going 12 times as fast. In an hour, it was done. But, and I can only imagine this is because someone very important hates me, it didn't work (something about not being able to mount a disk image). Crushed hopes, horror. Today, I checked my package's progress and, true to my wildest hopes, it was estimated to arrive today, not tomorrow! I rushed to the post office, no package slip. Crushed hopes, horror. Again; no, same thing. Thrice I went, longing for my package. Finally, it was there (thanks to a friendly postmaster). Joyful, I jumped on Concord (my faithful steed) and sped back to my dorm.

But here's the thing: I had also ordered a mouse (to get free shipping), which they warned me would ship separately. So when I tore open my package, it was just a mouse, not gamer-crack.

Crushed hopes. Horror.

At least you have a mouse. Gaming mouse-less would be quite miserable, and you wouldn't want your first dose of gaming crack to be tarnished in any way.

Godspeed concord. Godspeed.

You're kind of wrong. Given that Civ 4 is turn-based, the mouse-less thing wouldn't be as bad, because I wouldn't get fucked by slow scroll speeds, inaccurate clicking, etc.

Meanwhile, I downloaded another 300MB demo which turned out to be for windows. Fuck my life.

Wait, you named your bike Concord? Dude, seriously?

Yeah that's really funny (and by funny I mean "sucks for you") but at least the Gods aren't trying to alter your path in life.

And at least the download didn't work, then you would have just spent money for nothing.

Well the download was only a demo, so no potential for wasted money there.

And yes, I named my bike Concord. The quality of my life has increased dramatically since.

Ehh...I suppose better that than other things. (seeing as faster isn't always better)

*badumcha!*

I heartily apologize.

I like how you hyperlinked the post directly below this one...from two days ago...which some of us commented on. You know, just in case we didn't see/read/remember it.

OSK, there's a system in place. Don't argue with the system.

Juicy, c'mon, children read this.

Oh right sorry I forgot. DrK, avert your eyes!

... really? but I mean... really??

*sighs*

That was just bad... even from you...

@vert: always, ALWAYS check the system requirements before you download anything, espeically big files, or this will just keep happening to you.
Random aside: 30% xp skirmishes in wesnoth are surprisingly addictive, despite having to deal with multiple avengers and champions
